A couple of tidbits for this blog...

Verbiage used in blog:
Worlings
= refers to Burwors, Garwors and Thorwors. Worlings is mentioned in Manual section.
Parade line = refers to the Worlings lining up on the bottom row for easy kills (lovely parade is mentioned in Manual section: "It is easy to have several worriors chomped up in a row. Sometimes the monsters will line up along one edge of the maze – a lovely parade.")
Rocking Chair - refers to worrior movement mentioned in Manual section: "A light tap to the joystick will face your worrior in a certain direction, without moving him out of position."
Bump move = refers to positioning the Worrior in-between grids (all dungeons have 11 X 6 grid sections). This allows a dungeon to be played faster in some cases. It also allows the only safe home base I know of, in addition to Wizard set-up positioning for The Pit.
Home base - refer to videos. This amounts to where I prefer to spend most of the time playing specific dungeons.
Learn the Wizard set-up position - refer to the videos, folks! There's only so much you can describe on paper.

The recording on this blog were obtained using SnagIt's v9 screen capture software (btw - they offer a 30 day free trial), and the Snagit recordings are the direct root cause of the audio coming across in a Star Wars android type sound. Rest assured, any video recordings that were sent to Twin Galaxies were submitted per their guidelines. If you notice that one of the dungeon recordings indicates the high score is actually higher but I'm holding onto the tape, this is not the case. During a 1-Player game starting with 7 worriors, I started taping what looked to be like a great game (I think in the dungeon 40 something range) ... the final score was approximately 10k more than what's on record, and no, this doesn't qualify for a Twin Galaxies high score submittal. The point - always record your games!

Wizard of Wor is a tough game. The uploaded videos are intended to show the positioning and tactics used to play the game. All dungeons are not gravy...for every Pit dungeon video where the worrior exits unscathed, I can assure folks there are 10-fold the number of attempts where either multiple worriors are lost or, the game is lost. Then again, playing the The Pit isn't like Rodney attempting to get just 1 pin:

Wizard of Wor is a game for individuals with patience...it must be played over and over and over. Achieving a solid game is the result of a numbers game. I don't always follow my own strategy ... learn to adjust your game on the fly with WoW!

The best part of the game isn't even discussed on this thread: the 2-Player game. The 2-Player game is by far (in my opinion), the greatest 2-Player team concept classic coin-op game ever made.

Have fun, and GAME ON!
